  • New meditation experiences available

This week at Zen Jungle retreat, we are thrilled to unveil a journey deeper into the essence of being, with the introduction of four new meditation practices. This week, we invite you to transcend the ordinary and explore realms of meditation that promise not just peace, but a profound connection with the universe and yourself. Each practice, rooted in ancient wisdom and modern understanding, offers a unique path to awakening and healing. As we gather in the spirit of discovery and growth, let us share the essence of these new offerings. Our journey begins with Connected Meditation, a practice that reminds us of the invisible threads that weave us into the tapestry of the universe. As we meditate together, guided by the gentle voice of our experienced facilitators, we witness our individual energies bloom and intertwine. This practice is not just about finding peace within but recognising that peace as a shared experience, a communal vibration that elevates and unifies us. In this space, we are reminded that we are not solitary beings but part of a larger, breathing, thriving existence. Moving Energy Meditation offers a dynamic path to harmony and healing, drawing upon practices such as Reiki and Qi Gong. It invites us to become conscious conduits of the universal energy that envelops us, teaching us to direct and flow with this force in a dance of vitality. Through deliberate movements and focused intent, we learn to dissolve blockages, rejuvenate our bodies, and harmonize our spirits with the rhythm of life itself. This practice is a powerful reminder of our inherent ability to heal and be healed, to move and be moved by the world around us. Kriya Meditation, steeped in the venerable tradition of Kriya Yoga, is a voyage towards self-realization. This practice offers a methodical approach to spiritual awakening, using meditation to usher in a state of deep contemplation and connection. It is an invitation to delve into the layers of the self, to uncover the profound truth of our existence, and to experience the liberation that comes from this understanding. Kriya Meditation is a beacon for those seeking to navigate the depths of their being and emerge with a renewed sense of purpose and clarity. Lastly, Brain Sync Meditation introduces a fusion of ancient meditation techniques and modern technology. Through the use of headphones, participants are immersed in soundscapes designed to harmonize brainwave frequencies, facilitating states of deep meditation, heightened creativity, and inner peace. This practice is a testament to the power of sound as a universal healer and connector, offering a unique and accessible path to mental and emotional balance. As we embark on this week of exploration and weekly thereafter, we invite you to join us in embracing these practices. Whether you seek healing, connection, self-realization, or simply a moment of peace, our new meditation offerings promise a journey of discovery and transformation. In the sacred space of our Zen Jungle retreat, let us explore the depths of our humanity and the heights of our spirit, together.

  • It's time to peel back the conditioned ideas that are ruling your life.

As we embark on the journey to find some inner peace, we start to realise what is driving us to lose our peace in the first place. Invariably, it's a collection of ideas that for most, have become the centre points of human existence. Ideas that have been systematically programmed into us all. The modern human is born into a world and societal framework where they are bombarded with what is important and true seemingly for ALL humans from a very young age. Ideas like money, aesthetics, success and competition, relationships, family and health and diet are all presented to us and described as if they are the key things that will make us happy when done well. The idea of being a successful human and achieving some goal or another during this limited lifetime is also an inferrerence that we buy into on a super deep level, as is the human concept of life and death. Death must be avoided and life must be lived. We follow what we are told to be, do or have like it's an unchangeable human computer program These concepts that are present from our parents, in our schools, on TV and from social media become embedded like a computer program and they create an intense feeling of both a need to do and have as well as a constant feeling of underlying anxiety. The truth of being a human in this societal framework is that you are always chasing or avoiding something in the hope that you can have or retain some level of happiness. It's intense and non-stop, and it is what with deeper analysis, is driviong almost everyone you know. Their thoughts, words and actions in life originate in this small set of programmed, conditioned ideas. Not surprising when they are bombarded with them to saturation point. Most people we know are either chasing money, success of one form or another, a relationship, health and diet, a career or they are working to avoid dying or a list of other things that they believe they need to stay away from in order to be happy. Modern life for humans has lost any form of peace and there';s always something to do, someone to be, something to have, somewhere you need to go, someone you need to be with or someone you need to get away from. Have you noticed it's all conditioned ideas? As we start our journey toward peace, a moment comes where we start to notice that our peace is actually being lost in all of the effort it takes to chase and avoid the ideas we have decided ironically will bring us peace. The cruel paradox is that our search for peace and happiness in these ideas is the very thing that takes all our peace and happiness. As soon as we realise none of the ideas are actually our own, we see that we have been unconsciously conditioned to chase and avoid everything by systematic submersion in a closed set of beliefs and ideas. Interestingly though, we are so busy running the program and thinking it all out then doing it all that until we find a magical moment when we stop, we just can't see it for what it is. Peace is not about attaching to more and chasing or avoiding it, it's about letting go of it all until there's nowhere to be, nothing to do, and no part to be played just to fit in. It is only when we change perspective by 180 degrees and start to peel back the layers of conditioning that we see that all it was, was conditioning. A set of ideas that almost every individual in a whole species has been taken over by and now runs as a program they can't see and so don't know how to escape. This paradoxical journey of life has us need to find some peace in order to reveal where inner peace actually lives and what is taking it away. In a world where there's always something to be, chase or avoid there is no rest at all. But in the truth of human existence, in the place where there is a gift of being and nothing at all to be, do or have, we are always at peace and always free. Gone are the ideas that were driving every word and action, gone is the need for endless strategy and thought. Peeling back everything simply reveals what was always there before it became obscurred by the ideas we were falsely told were important; as if they were the truth of human existence. In truth they were just a subjective set of things that someone decided for us, probably for their own benefit. When these ideas are seen for what they are and not as truth or importance, they become just another aspect of existence to be observed in peaceful being. They will not make you happy or bring you peace because the route to that is simply to leave them all alone and cease making peace or joy something you hope to find in a person, place or thing. Peace and joy is the state of being that reveals itself as the conditioned thoughts of all the places and things to be, do or have melt away.

  • Have you tried a nidra session yet?

Don't be fooled by the word yoga because nidra is in no way physical. This is a yogic sleep session. It's one of the most relaxing experience available. It's often said that just 1 hour of yoga nidra is worth 6 hour sleep. This session will be held lying down on a comfy mattress under a blanket with an eye pillow to block out any light. There's no physical movement at all. You will be guided through a journey of consciousness that will keep you balanced on the line between sleep and being awake for around an hour. You will be taken through points of awareness and placed in a type of conscious sleep that has incredible effects on bringing both peace and relaxation, while making an active mind quiet. It is held in our beautiful ceremonial yurt and has become a favourite for regulars.

  • Astral travel - the next stage in exploration of the magic

As we let go of the conditioned reality and the limiting beliefs that are holding us back, we start to see the magic of this existence. Having been born into a body and place that remains a complete mystery, we start to notice, as we did when we were children, that there is magic everywhere. Whether it be the magic of having a body that created itself and exited the womb to draw breath for the first time or the observation that we really don't have a clue what this reality actually is, how we got here or why things are as they are, we start to see that things are not as they appear or limited to what we have been told. The magic of consciousness itself One of the biggest mysteries that is here to be noticed is the mystery of consciousness itself. This is our inherent awareness of things through the senses of the body, the thought stream, the dream state and the extra sensory perceptions available through meditation and psychadelics. It fundamentally defines our existence because without it we simply would not perceive our own existence and therefore would not technically exist at all. They say perception is 9 tenths of reality but in truth it is 100% of reality, as without it you would be aware of nothing including your own existence. For most of us in the western world however, education, science and the endless conditioning through media and TV has left us all so busy with other very worldly and human concerns that we overlook or ignore the nature of our own existence. Money, family, health, diet, success, relationships, religion and more take over our waking moments with endless thoughts and planning. They leave us endlessly worried and chasing what we want, creating all our fears and the need to avoid what we arbitrarily decide we don't want. It's exhausting and all consuming. The journey back to becoming conscious of what we are and realising the true self however, reveals that we have been missing so much while submerged in all that thought chaos. The power and extent of consciousness itself being one of the major surprises. Your awareness can travel to places you have never been For those who have experienced mushrooms or other psychadelics this is no surprise. Many have visited complex realms either within the world we are experiencing right now or totally outside of it where we see new realities and things previously unimaginable and unseen. As our journey and commitment to our own peace deepens, we realise that there is no need of medecins to open up our perception to other realms of reality. Noticing that we can experience visions and beings, lands and concepts unknown to us just through changing breathing patterns and learning to meditate deeply. As we do, we often start to become more and more lucid in our dream states. We find that we can take control of our dreams and explore or have adventures at will more and more often. Something in the dream alerts us to the fact that we are dreaming and hey presto we realise that we are dreaming, starting to project into locations of our choice, to fly at will and experience beings and wisdoms as just a few of the adventures available. Exploring the magic is a natural progression Hannah and I have been on a deep and life-changing journey. We have been sharing our path and the tools that took us away from the conditioned mind and into the magic for some time now and within that process our own journey deepens and continues. As we find further peace and become more open, intuition grows and we are often exposed to more and more experiences outside of our previous understanding. It really is magical. We see others change, connect and become more and more open too, seeing it all as an evolution of previously hidden consciousness. The natural progression from finding inner peace is towards exploring the magic of consciousness itself. As we see the power and life-changing potential, we also see that the limitations we previously believed in and thought of as the laws of this universe were merely subjective ideas shared, with no underlying basis of truth. So now it's time to join us in explorations, today it may be astral travel, tomorrow it's remote viewing then who knows, it could be teleportation We are open to the magic and hope you are too. That's why we have started to explore new ways to go deeper, to meditate and to mix our practices together to find new experiences. Astral travel has been a fascination for us for so long. Astral travel, also known as astral projection, is a fascinating phenomenon where one's consciousness leaves the physical body and travels to different planes of existence. It is often described as a deeply spiritual experience that allows individuals to explore the astral realm beyond the constraints of the physical world. In a kind of progression from lucid dreaming, to embark on an astral journey, we must first achieve a deep state of relaxation and meditation. This can be done through techniques such as breathwork and visualization, hemispheric sound synchronisation and placing ourselves deep into the space between being awake and consciously asleep. By quieting the mind and letting go of physical sensations, the ideal conditions for astral travel to occur. This is hugely exciting and provides the rout to great adventures, and while not always easy or reliable, we are working to be able to teach it all as a process that we can do together at both retreat and online sessions. What an amazing way to demonstrate the unlimited nature of this existence and to break the previously held beliefs that serve only to hold us back. Experience is always the best teacher and trying these things for yourself is always the best way forward. We will soon be ready and equipped to run our first sessions, to explore in groups and to project into realms previously unknown, and as with the other activities we do at the retreat, to open minds and to reach new awareness of what is limitless human potential or magic by another name. When the magic begins it will open up a whole new reality The truth for most is that we are locked into a small fraction of the experiences available to a human and to pure consciousness itself. These new practices and explorations will undoubtedly open up a gateway for deeper experiences and an openness to trying the next thing and the next after that. As we experience more and more of the unknown, the limitations that hold us in the know will simply disolve, allowing us to find more of what we currently can't even imagine. Finding peace releases the nature of this adventure and exposes it to be seen in ways that you currently haven't even dreamed of. As the intuitional flow is accepted, it only brings the new and leaves the repetitive old behind. It's astral travel today and who knows what after. Look out for the upcoming sessions and tell us your thoughts and suggestions for this and other adventures we can facilitate. This is really exciting!

  • Meditate with us daily for free, great for beginners and regulars

Life can be loud and chaotic, or at least our thoughts about it can. That's why we encourage daily meditation for every guest and member. Learning to meditate is easy and every session is accompanied by clear discussions and instructions to help you to exit your thoughts and find some peace. We vary our sessions to keep them interesting and fresh but include deep sensory meditations, kriya meditations, connected meditations and Zazen regularly. Meditation is a redirection of your awareness and attention into your senses. It will allow you to immerse in your energetic sensations, conscious visual space, sound and awareness itself. Whilst we hear many people discuss their difficulty in meditating on first arriving, it always disappears and is replaced by a deep peace and calm before they leave. Meditating together and with guidance makes for a connected, energetic experience that we can all share. There is nowhere to be, nothing to do and no one to be while in this deep state of blissful peace. Almost all meditation is free for members and whilst advertised Thursday to Monday, we almost always meditate at 9:30am every day at the retreat, so turn up and meet us in the bistro to get involved and connect. We meditate both in the lounge yurt and on the lakesdie Zenscape stage when the weather permits where you can also swim and sit peacefully watching the wildlife. Prices shown on meditation are for non members and will be discounted (usually to £0 on booking) so there's no excuse not to get involved. See you soon.

  • Our latest review for the transformational retreat - Rachel

Wow! What an incredible life changing journey. I arrived at Zen jungle having been through significant trauma. The care, support and direction I received in getting me back onto a brighter path was second to none. The whole Zen jungle team were so supportive and welcoming and made me feel at home. I would particularly like to thank Jason for his wisdom and guidance, which was selfless, always ready to listen and support me on my journey. Hannah was also so caring and nothing was ever too much trouble, her kindness and gentle way was an inspiration. I feel very privileged to have discovered this beautiful space, where Zen energy truly exists. This is a space to find true inner peace and calmness. I whole heartedly recommend Zen Jungle to anyone who needs to rejuvenate, recover from trauma or just to connect with the natural world and remember the beauty of just being. You don’t have to take the long road to Tibet- just book a retreat and start your journey today! Thank you for your kind words Rachel.

  • Are you an addict or are you simply trying to feel better?

As we become addicted to escaping the life we feel trapped in, we are encouraged to mistake the symptom for the cause. If your life is the cause, change it because a new label won’t help. Feeling the need to escape the way you feel about life does not make you an addict, no matter who says it does. Addiction is a symptom and not a cause. If life felt good without your addiction, would you need the addiction? It turns out that most of the way we feel about life is a self created perspective, meaning that we are constantly judging how things feel and creating our own idea based reality. If those judgements become overwhelmingly negative then we become depressed and or feel a need to escape the way we feel. Addiction is just one method we use to help with the negative thoughts and mind noise that comes from those judgements, ideas and thoughts about life. Life has become an accumulation of things to do, a person to be, things to have, the right things to say, successful relationships and so much more. All of those ideas exert a huge pressure on most of us and disconnect us from the nature of this magical adventure we have been given, giving an endless weight instead. The labels create roles to be played and add even more pressure, including the label of addict. What a paradox it is that we become addicted to escaping the pressure of the things we need to be, do and have, only to be given the pressure of managing a new role and label. That of an addict. In this reality and human society, we are lost in and obsessed by symptoms and not cause, making us unable to see that it is the nature of a conditioned human life that creates our need to escape. As we realise that we are bound into that life only by our own beliefs, we see that dealing with the cause is simply a matter of learning to let go of those beliefs and to reveal the freedom that was always there. If addiction in the hope of feeling better is affecting you or those around you, it is time to see the cause not the symptom. It is only our beliefs that imprison us in a life we become addicted to escaping from, so they are all that needs to change. Zen Jungle is the holistic masterclass in how to truly love life.

  • Reviving the role of community in Motherhood

At last weeks mothers circle we focused on the topic of community and some really interesting conversation flowed. It seemed that all of us, despite being at different stages of motherhood, felt like we would benefit from a greater sense of community in our mothering journeys. There was a time when mothering would have automatically been a community experience. When people were more deeply connected with the women surrounding them, within in their own families and local villages. So, we brainstormed how we would like community to look within our own circle, for ourselves and for all mothers who will join us. First and foremost, we decided that community meant it was a collaborative space, where we all worked together to shape what it was we wanted for ourselves and others. This means there is no leader, just mutual participation where everyone gives and everyone receives. Here are some of the ways in which we decided our community would be of most benefit: An open, in-person space held every week on Thursdays (10.30-1.30) for mothers. Young children welcome to attend.  Some Thursday sessions will host guest speakers or discussion groups focused on particular topics to help us through our mothering journeys. Topics may include subjects such as: freebirth, wild pregnancy, raising children out of the system, breastfeeding, natural health, unschooling etc.  A whatsapp group allowing you to connect with other mothers during the week.  Ask questions and receive support from other mothers. Meet other mothers of all ages and stages of motherhood.  Sharing childrens clothes, toys and other resources. Using alternative methods of currency such as energy exchange or trade.  Food trains for those in their fourth trimester or mothers who are going through a difficult time.  Holding the spiritual, connected magic of life alive for other mothers and children. Mother blessings held for pregnant community members.  Organising activities and events for mothers. Organising activities and events for children.  We also agreed upon a foundation of values for our community, using them as inspiration for how we would like to build and create this new way of living: Joy! Motherhood is a journey that holds many ups and downs. We hold space for all aspects of this journey however we prioritise mothering from a space of joy.  Freedom & Independence. We understand the importance of raising free and independent children in every aspect of their lives and aim to embody these values so that our children can learn through demonstration.  Transparency & honesty. Motherhood can be much messier than it is often made to look on the surface. This is a space where you can be open about your journey and also be honest with other mothers when they ask for your viewpoints.  Creativity. We embody creativity in all aspects of life, from new ways of forming and living as community through to imaginative thinking. Let’s encourage our children to create! Trust. As a collective we are a community that is doing things differently. Many of us choose births that differ from the “norm” such as freebirth or hypnobirthing and ongoing ways of mothering. We trust in our remembrance of the knowledge we innately carry and are connected to through our ancestors.  If this sounds like a community that you would like to be a part of, then we welcome you to join us with open arms. For mothers at any stage, whether you are pregnant or a great grandmother to 30 children, this is a space for you.

  • The right relationship can be hard to find and how will you know you have it?

One of the biggest areas of life where most us hope to find peace is in our relationships. Finding the right partner, considering if the one you have is right for you and making decisions to change things can take over our thoughts. This video takes a look at the process and offers new perspective and some key considerations that will help you find exactly what you're looking for. How will I know? One of the most unsettling parts of relationships is the idea of spending a lifetime with the same person and making the right choice of who that is. While many of us are in a relationship currently, a large proportion of us are considering if that relationship is the right one and if it will last. Sometimes it's important to ask yourself some hard questions in order to see what is driving those choices and though it may not always be what we want to hear when submerged in the vortex of our dependency on a relationship for our happiness, it really is worth stepping right back to see the truth. Personal transformation and relationships The journey of personal transformation that we hold space for at the retreat is focussed on finding peace and joy in every aspect of your life. This is an internal journey and so it is not always understood how it will impact every relationship you have, be them with people, places or things but the way we relate to everything in opur lives is fundamental. Hopefully this video helps those who need it right now...

  • Have you tried the masterclass?

This is how it all started Whilst it seems so long ago now, it's not that long at all. We released the masterclass in december of 2020 in the middle of lock down after such a surprising personal journey, and it's been getting more surprising every day. After a story of deep personal crisis and a journey that took me on a marathon of experiences, reading and awakening to deeply transform my life and save myself, writing the book was the unexpected outcome. Having never written a book before it all happened by accident in an attempt to give myself the most effective and coherent plan to follow to finding a new perspective and connection. When the book started I didn't know what the outcome would be but in the act of writing I found everything I needed. It's all there So much has developed and the journey has continued but I now see that what was written in the book was so far past my understanding at the time. Much of the text was autowritten with me a biwildered spectator on my fingers as they typed all by themselves. When complete I read it time and time again, consuming what had come from the void, and so much I didn't know at the time. Whilst the transformational retreat has developed and become so much more direct and coherent for those who visit, everything needed is still in the masterclass. We still get feedback from those who can't join us who choose to read or listen to it. The reviews have been amazing with one I remember comparing it to the bible or bagavad gits. Not sure it's comparable but the usefulness is there I think. Wherever you are on the journey, the book may help The masterclass is avaialble on amazon, audible or ibooks as a paperback, audiobook or ebook. If you are looking for answers or to take steps in your journey it's well worth a try, and once your done why not visit us in person at the retreat.
