Terms of Service

The terms on which we provide our services. Last updated 24 April 2026.

These terms apply when you use the Zen Jungle website, stay with us, attend an event, buy a course or book, join the community, or interact with our AI assistants. By using our services you agree to them. If anything is unclear, email trust@zenjungle.org before you book.

Who we are

Zen Jungle is operated by the Zen Jungle Sovereign Trust, a private express trust. Retreat operations, bookings, online sales and the services described below are administered on behalf of the trust by its bare trustees — which may include companies acting in a bare-trustee capacity. Where a service is delivered through a regulated channel (payments, telephony, email, digital platforms), the bare trustees operate within the applicable UK framework for that layer.

Contact: The Trustees at trust@zenjungle.org. Correspondence address: Zen Jungle Retreat, Wooda Lakes, Pancrasweek, Holsworthy, Devon. EX22 7JN.

What we provide

  • Cabin stays and the retreat centre — ten self-catering cabins plus InnStyle rooms on our 40-acre Devon grounds.
  • Events and sessions — retreats, workshops, breathwork, saunas, 1:1 appointments and other offerings listed on our What's On calendar.
  • The Butterfly Program — our 14-night residential transformational retreat.
  • Online courses — on-demand video, audio and written content, accessed via an account.
  • Books — digital books with an optional hosted reader and audio narration.
  • The Sovereign Community — a membership programme for those accepted after the suitability assessment.
  • The Butterfly Club — our free mailing list.

Bookings

  • A booking is confirmed when payment is processed (or, for appointment-based offerings, when we email you that your slot is approved and you complete payment via the link we send).
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us — dates, party size, dietary and accessibility needs. Get in touch as early as possible if anything changes.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a booking if the information provided is materially inaccurate, if the booking would breach these terms, or in cases of force majeure.

Payments, cancellations and refunds

  • Prices are in GBP and include VAT where applicable. Prices shown on the site at the time of booking are the prices you pay.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't see or store your card details.
  • Cabin stays: cancellations more than 30 days before arrival receive a full refund less a booking fee; 14–30 days receive a 50% refund; under 14 days are non-refundable except where we can re-let the cabin.
  • Events and retreats: a non-refundable deposit secures your place. Full balance is due 30 days before the start date. Cancellations within 30 days of the start date are not refundable, though we will transfer your place to another date where possible.
  • The Butterfly Program: specific terms are sent to you before you confirm.
  • Courses and books: digital products are non-refundable once access has been granted, but we will consider exceptions case-by-case — email us.
  • Community membership: no refunds on partial months; you can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of your paid period.
  • If we cancel (weather, illness, venue failure) we'll refund in full or offer a transfer.

Your account

When you create an account to access books, courses or the community you agree to keep your credentials secure and to let us know quickly if you suspect unauthorised access. Accounts are personal — you may not share access.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use our services for anything unlawful.
  • Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems, or breach any security or authentication measures.
  • Scrape, reproduce, or redistribute our written, audio, or video content, including course material and books, beyond what's expressly permitted.
  • Submit content that's defamatory, harassing, discriminatory or otherwise harmful (including through the AI assistants).

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these rules, particularly where a breach risks harm to others or our business.

Intellectual property

All written, audio, video, photographic and design content on the site and within our courses and books is either ours or licensed to us. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to view and use it for your own learning. You can't copy, redistribute, publish, or use our content to train machine-learning systems without written permission.

AI assistants

Our sitewide concierge, per-course AI Guide, community suitability assessment, and voice agent are powered by large language models (primarily Anthropic's Claude). They are informational aids — they are not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. Don't rely on them for anything consequential without checking with a qualified professional.

We store your messages to provide the service and improve the assistants, in line with our Privacy Policy. Don't share information you wouldn't want stored.

Third-party services

Some features (payments, authentication, email delivery) rely on third-party providers listed in our Privacy Policy. Their terms also apply where you interact with them.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that can't be excluded or limited under UK law.

Subject to the above, our total liability to you for any claim connected to these services is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses, loss of profit, or loss of opportunity.

You use our 40-acre grounds, saunas, cold-plunge pools and other facilities at your own risk. We'll always put clear safety information in front of you — please follow it.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. If the change is material, we'll email registered users and post a notice on this page for 30 days.

Governing law

For matters that flow through the bare trustees' administrative layer — payments, digital services, consumer protection, data processing — these terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any such disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
