Luxury wellness cabin stays on the border of Devon and Cornwall

A Devon and Cornwall Retreat

Located on the border of Devon and Cornwall, the Zen Jungle Retreat is tucked away in a hidden valley. A magical oasis for those seeking inner peace, a pause from life and personal transformation, this retreat has been tailored for those who are serious about taking their journey to the next level.

Close to the stunning coastal town of Bude, you really will find yourself in one of the most beautiful areas of the country down here. With picturesque beaches rolling for miles just a short drive away, and hidden gems such as St Nectan's Glen, Bodmin Moor and Boscastle's famous witches museum as unique day trip locations, this really is an unforgettable destination.

That's if you even wish to leave. The Zen Jungle Retreat is to the world of wellness what Willy Wonka's factory is to the world of chocolate. Come and enjoy a world of pure imagination, where flow and intuition has guided the creation of every space at the retreat and where you can fully let go and explore consciousness.

Luxury, self catered cabin stays

When you arrive at Zen Jungle, you'll be checked into your chosen cabin, each lovingly furnished in different styles ranging from exotic tribal to boho chic. With every home comfort in mind including a dishwasher and washing machine, the cabins are designed to act as your home away from home for the duration of your stay. Super king beds with high thread count linens, expansive bifold doors and double ended outdoor tubs are just some of the things that will wow you upon arrival.

Enjoy an evening of stargazing from your own private bath sunk into your decking. Dine al fresco overlooking the valley sunset views. Cook fresh eggs in the morning laid by the Zen Hens at Zen Jungle's very own farm. Unwind and relax in luxurious furnishings where no expense has been spared. Enjoy the serene peace that comes with switching off from the world, with no TV's to distract.

Each cabin has everything you need to hold you in a space of surrender, so you can do nothing except focus on enjoying some well deserved "me time". Whether you want to get involved in all that's on at the retreat and discover the wonders of your mind and its workings, or curl up on the sofa, shut the world out and bury yourself in a good book, there's something for everyone at Zen Jungle.

Things to do during your stay

As a centre for conscious wellbeing, the Zen Jungle Retreat is second to none. Offering a huge range of activities from the rare practice of Shamanic Breathwork through to mystical sound baths and lakeside meditations, you will never be short of experiences to try.

Perhaps our most popular activity, shamanic breathwork is a deep practice of conscious breathing, guided by our experienced practitioners. A fast and effective way to release stress and trauma from the body, as well as offering psychedelic experiences for some.

Meditations are offered in various forms, from guided connected, third eye, Kriya and drumming meditations to the Zen Buddhist practice of eyes open Zazen, there's lots of opportunity to train your mind and learn to control your thoughts.

Yoga Nidra is offered as the ultimate way to relax. Also known as yogic sleep, yoga nidra offers you the benefits of 5 hours sleep in just one hour. This type of yoga is practiced in shavasana, laying down with closed eyes under blankets, supported by plenty of cushions.

Sound baths at Zen Jungle are hosted by a range of practitioners on rotation, to offer you the chance to experience a wide range of sound journeys. Whether you're looking for a calming experience guided by a native american flute, an exploration of folklore and mermaid song practiced with the voice or an enveloping gong ceremony, we offer it all.

Mindfulness talks, walks and art sessions are also a weekly event at the Zen Jungle Retreat. With no ability needed, these sessions are an opportunity to learn the basics of mindfulness so that you can bring them back to your daily life, allowing you to have more peace at home, work, and everything in between.

Spaces to eat, drink, play and hang out

Spread across 40 acres of rolling countryside and woodland, the Zen Jungle Retreat is home to many spaces for you to eat, drink, play and hang out during your stay. The Eye Bistro is our primary food space, open for lunch and dinner on Fridays and Saturdays weekly. We serve fresh, local produce and as often as possible grow it in our own polytunnels.

The heated, Kazakh yurts are the centre of the activities, the ceremonial yurt is uses for most of the laid down activities and the lounge yurt is where sessions such as meditation or the yurt cinema take place. Full of sheepskins, bean bags, mattresses and other soft furnishings, these have been designed for ultimate comfort.

The Jungle Club is a members only space, where cabin guests are welcome to hang out, play board games, grab a drink, enjoy the sunset over the lake and meet like minded people. A cosy environment with a log burning stove as well as outdoor fire pit for community cooking.

For those who like fire, we have many fire pit lounges where we host cookouts regularly, or you can cook your own! The Yin Yang amphitheatre has two huge fire pits as the eyes of the yin and yang. We also have The Meteor, a crater dug into the ground overlooking Freedom Lake, The Hive surrounded by perennial fruit beds and The Edge, looking out over the whole of Zen Jungle.

Our newest installation is The Pendulum, a ginormous swing encouraging laughter and play, so you can remember what it's like to be a child again. This swing is situated next to the Zenscape stage, perfect for group and private meditations, hanging out with the fish and also a stage for live musicians in summer.
